As you know, I'm fan of new technologies and the 5G is being prepared so and I inquired about of this new internet revolution that is going to be different from the 4 G.
First of all, try to understand why the 5G will be a revolution and not a simple evolution of the 4G. Quickly return a few years back: mobile networks have taken a great step between 2G (voice and SMS only) and 3G (mobile internet); 4G has just improved the capabilities of 3G, in terms of speed of transfer of data, and especially destined for smartphones.
An explosion of connected devices
The 5G is a new important step, because it has more than the smartphones and tablets that want to connect to the network, and thus to the internet. When all other objects connected outside the House, smartphone to the car through the cameras and watches, they all have very different needs. The idea of a 5G 'customized' is essential, as the quantities of data transferred, the transfer velocities or the necessary stabilities are each time different. This represents significant challenges and will profoundly change how mobile networks are designed.
Intel will add intelligence
We can read on the Intel Website : "the 5G marks a fundamental turning point towards a platform of intelligent mobile networks, and not a simple platform of personal communication such as 3G or 4G". In practical terms, this means that "the 5G will not simply improve the speed and the capacity of communications, it will add intelligence to the network to enable devices and the network to communicate better, to pass content and data more quickly, and to share computing resources".
Specifically, what role intends to play Intel in the 5G? This is where it gets complicated, because it goes in all directions. The American computer chip giant has embarked on numerous partnerships to develop all kinds of technologies related to the 5G. "We are taking the road towards the 5 G in several different ways. Partnerships with leaders in the mobile industry was created to ensure that the 5 G is ready and that the first field trials are conclusive. To do this, we've investing heavily in prototypes and experiments".
On its huge stand at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, we attended demonstrations of data transfers very fast 5 G (much more than the Wi - Fi your home...). But it's prototypes able to download "7 movies in 1 second", and not a smartphone at 1 kilometre of an antenna.
With the Korean giant LG Electronics, Intel is developing future equipment in telecommunications 5G of cars, which have specific needs when they move at high speed and change mobile network antenna.
Basically, we think the simple transfer of data (music download, update-system or the car, remote access to certain information in the car, etc) between the vehicle and the network.But the 5G is the network of intelligence. Communications between cars, between car and pedestrian or between cars and signs, will certainly contribute to safer roads in the coming years. LG, which is the market leader of communication systems embedded in cars now, so allied himself with Intel for its next generations.
Normally, the 5G will arrive in 2020 and I think that it will change a lot of thing in the world !
